My name is Tracy Hanayo Yuk Lan Okubo and I am a candidate for the Makiki-Tantalus House seat.
As a working-class homeowner in the district, I share your joys and frustrations of living in Hawaii.
I first ran for this House seat in 2004 because I wanted to help make positive changes for our community and our State. I choose to run again this year because I am still very deeply committed to the democratic process and a balanced two-party system.
Over the years I have become a successful and effective advocate for Hawaii's most vulnerable populations: the needy, the elderly, the disabled and children who have suffered from abuse and neglect.
I have pushed to increase access to afforable quality healthcare, reduce the cost of prescription drugs, helped liberate welfare clients from poverty by increasing their opportunity to become self-sufficent, and increased the use of Federal funds to help balance the State budget.
As your Representative in the State House, I will continue to utilize my relationships with the Federal government, Executive Branch and Legislative colleauges to be an independent and effective voice for our Makiki-Tantalus community.
It would be an honor and privilege to serve our community in the State Legislature. My family and I humbly ask for your vote in the upcoming General Election.
Aloha Pumehana,

Tracy Hanayo Yuk Lan Okubo
Candidate, Makiki-Tantalus House Seat
